Exchange files between an Android smartphone and the computer is a regular task, usually with Windows as the computer’s operating system. This is a common process that can be completed in a number of ways. That’s why it’s good to know all the options so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

Synchronization between Android and Windows is not the best, but there are ways to bypass obstacles when transferring files between your phone and your computer, or vice versa. Let’s see how.

USB cable

A classic option, but one that always works: connect your Android phone to your computer using a USB cable. All mobiles come standard with this cable, so just plug it in to open the transfer channel and charge.

When connecting the phone to the computer we have to enter “This Computer” (Windows 10). There the Android will appear connected; in some cases shows the name of the brand or the serial name of the device. Just double-click and find the location of the files you want to copy. It’s not a complicated process at all.

Google Drive

Google Drive comes installed on most Android smartphones. In the case of the computer, it is accessible from the browser, so it is possible to upload files from one device to Google Drive and then download them to the other. It’s one of the simplest and most universal methods.

To transfer files from Android to your computer, simply open the Google Drive application. Then click on the colored “+” at the bottom right and choose which files to share and to which folder they will be uploaded. Accept and, depending on the connection, it will take a few seconds or minutes to get up.

When the process is complete simply go to the Google Drive website in your Windows browser and download the files directly to your computer. It’s a really simple process. The problem is that if a lot of files are going to be uploaded, or they are heavy, the process can take considerably longer than expected. Also, you must think your Google Drive limit: by default it is 15 GB.

This process can be done on other cloud platforms or file transfer: the operation is the same in all cases: just download the specific applications. Also, in the case of Google Drive you can synchronize the folders on the computer very comfortably.

Telegram

The popular messaging application is a good way to share files between Android and Windows. There is a smartphone version of the app, but the web version and the computer app were also launched some time ago, so Telegram can be used on any platform in complete comfort.

Once it has been installed on the computer, and synchronized with the account on the smartphone, it is already possible to save all kinds of files in the “Saved Messages” chat that Telegram creates for users. Thanks to this chat, it is possible to send photos or files of any kind, becoming a very convenient way to transfer anything between computer and mobile (or vice versa).

It is a good option when sending photos because the quality of them is not altered as long as they are sent as a file, which undoubtedly makes it an option to consider. In addition, its operation is really simple and we will have unlimited space.
