The Borth Wild Animal Kingdom Zoo, located in the city of Borth (Wales), is asking for financial help to save the lives of its 300 animals as the coronavirus crisis has left them without funds.

Through a video they announce that they have economic resources to keep the animals for one more week: “After that we will have to start looking for a new home for them”, they say. If they do not find a place for the animals, they say they will have to slaughter them.

In 2018, this zoo made headlines after one of their lynxes escaped from the enclosure and was found dead ten days later from a gunshot wound. Following this incident, owners Tracy and Dean Tweedy were accused of incompetence and negligence.
