Corey La Barrie, an emerging youtuber, died on May 10 in a car accident. That same day, La Barrie was 25 years old.
Hours later, the Los Angeles Police arrested Daniel Joseph Silva, 27, who was accused of wrongful death and who authorities said was driving the vehicle in question. In a statement, the police explained that last Sunday, around 9:39 p.m., a McLaren 600LT was traveling at high speed when the driver lost control, drove off the road and hit a stop sign and a tree. The driver got out of the vehicle and tried to leave the scene, authorities say, “but was stopped by citizens who came to his aid. La Barrie, who was in the passenger seat, was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries shortly thereafter.
In an update, police identified Daniel Joseph Silva, a popular tattooist after his appearance on the reality show “Ink Master”, as a driver, being held on $2 million bail. The main hypothesis is that the two “close friends” took the car after drinking alcohol at a party related to La Barrie’s birthday.
One of the influencer’s lawyers called the accident “reckless” and said Silva should be “totally responsible for his actions.
