Sending emails is an important part of many jobs, regardless of the area you’re in; although it’s definitely not what many people like to do best. Especially when you have to send them at a specific time. Luckily, Gmail on its anniversary last April 1st introduced a new feature that will help you a lot.
The update has arrived for almost everyone; although there are still those who are waiting for it. If you’re one of the lucky ones, we’ll explain how to use this new feature to program your emails. To find out if you already have it, check if there is a downward pointing arrow next to the “Send” button on the web.
1.- Press the arrow and then “Schedule Send”.
2.- Choose in the menu when you want to send the mail
3.- Once everything is ready you will see a dialog indicating when the delivery was scheduled. From here you can verify that you have done well. Otherwise, it’s still time to change it.
That’s how easy it is to program emails into the Google client via the web.
What about the app?
For the Android application you have to give more clicks, although it is not exactly difficult. This is the process (if you already have the update):
1.- Enter the menu of the “three points” in the upper right corner of the app in the new mail window
2.- There you select “Schedule Send”.
3.- From here the process is similar to the web. Add the day and time you want the mail to be sent automatically
4.- Finalize the programming and verify in the following dialog that the data are correct
Scheduled emails will be sent even if you don’t have Internet available on your devices at that time; and also even if you’re not logged in.
Anyway, if it is something too important it is worth bearing in mind this is a new feature and it is best to be aware that things are sent when they should.
