It won’t be the first or the last time we spill something on our keyboard, water or drinks of any kind (that’s why we shouldn’t eat on top of our keyboard). It is vital to know if our keyboard has survived the disaster. But how can we know if all the keys on a keyboard are working?
Fortunately, there are ways to find out without having to play the keyboard too much. In fact, if your problem has been that you’ve spilled liquid on your keyboard, we have to tell you that the main thing is that you unplug it and don’t touch it for a while. A week of drying out is normally recommended until the device is completely safe to use.
The fact that the keys work does not mean that the operation of the keyboard has not been affected. Therefore, unless you are absolutely sure that using your keyboard is safe, it is recommended that you replace it with another one to avoid problems.
The fastest and easiest way to find out if the keys on your keyboard work is with an online test. There are many of them on the Internet; just search for “keyboard tester” in Google and click on one of the many that exist. Some of the best alternatives are Keyboarchchecker.com or keyboardtester.com.
Again, we insist that if you notice that some of your keys are recognized but are not pressed correctly (multiple consecutive presses, bad key movement, etc.) then there is little point in recognizing the keys. This trick will give you an idea of how much your keyboard has resisted to liquids. We recommend using the device as long as it has received an optimum drying time and is absolutely safe to us.
