SEGA Forever is the new collection of company classics that now come free and full to iOS and Android with titles like Sonic The Hedgehog or Phantasy Star II.
It was one of the most awaited news by the community of players around the world. Following the success of the Nintendo NES mini and its appeal to nostalgia, rumors of the return of Atari, and the hundreds of remasterizations we see each year, the return of the most nostalgic games of SEGA was not going to be much delayed. So it has been: SEGA Forever is the new collection of classic games of the company that will arrive for free to your mobile. Yes free.
SEGA Forever offers some of the most classic Master System titles, MegaDrive DreamCast … now coming to iOS and Android, the two main mobile platforms with the ad-based freemium model: the games will be completely free within the collection, but We’ll see ads as we play. If we want to eliminate the ads and enjoy additional functionalities, such as the ability to save our games in the cloud, classification tables and compatibility with controllers, we will have to buy the full version of the game.
The games will have affordable prices if we want to get rid of the ads and have additional features: each game will be priced at $1.99, in a single payment, a model similar to Nintendo but with much lower prices to attract all types of players. The interesting thing is that although the current collection is made up of few titles: Sonic The Hedgehog, Phantasy Star II, Comix Zone and Kid Chameleon and Altered Beast, SEGA Forever will expand this list over time.
Both versions, iOS as Android, are the same, and there are no platform exclusivity, at least for now. Just download the apps to start playing all the titles available so far.
