Jim Ryan, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, has posted an entry on the official PlayStation blog announcing a new program called ‘Play At Home’ that is intended to help players stay at home during the isolation caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The Play At Home initiative consists of two major actions: giving away games and supporting indy developers financially.

For the first action Sony has decided to give away Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey on PS4. Both games will be available for free on the console from April 16th to May 6th.

As for financial support to independent studios, Sony’s CEO has announced a $10 million fund dedicated exclusively to this purpose. No further details have been given as to who will be able to access this kind of private support, although it has been announced that the criteria that must be met by Indian teams wishing to apply for it will be announced shortly.
