During the presentation of annual fiscal data, Sony has again insisted that the launch of PS5 is scheduled for the end of the year and that there are no major problems in game development
A few hours ago Sony presented its annual financial results at an event for investors and business partners that is very common at this time of year. The companies reviewed their numbers for the last 12 months and also offered attendees information about their future plans.
During the event, Sony has again insisted that the launch of PlayStation 5, its next-gen console, will take place at the end of this year 2020 and even assures that they are not having big problems in the development of video games at this time.
“Regarding the launch of PlayStation®5, although factors such as employees working from home and restrictions on international travel have presented some challenges in regards to part of the testing process and the qualification of production lines, development is progressing with the launch of the console scheduled for the 2020 holiday season. At this point in time major problems have not arisen in the game software development pipeline for Sony’s own first-party studios or its partners’ studios.”, said Sony in a statement distributed after the presentation of the financial results (p.20).
