As part of the Play at Home initiative, which aims to encourage people to stay at home in times of pandemic, PlayStation is offering 10 free games this spring. Yes, you read that right. A dozen titles will be available to you from 25 March without having to open your wallet. And all you need is a PlayStation Network account.
Play at Home is a programme that was born in the early months of 2020, just as the lockdown began in a large number of countries. Because the pandemic is far from over, PlayStation revived its initiative last February with a new free title: Ratchet & Clank, promising that more surprises would be revealed in the months to come. However, no one expected the next wave of free games to be so attractive.
Chief among the free games is Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition. However, the adventure created by Guerrilla Games will not be available from 25 March, but until 19 April. This will be an excellent opportunity to enjoy one of the best exclusives that saw the light of day on the PlayStation 4. And of course, you’ll be ready to receive the sequel (Horizon Forbidden West) at the end of 2021 -assuming it doesn’t get delayed-.
The remaining titles are mostly independent offerings such as Rez Infinite, Abzu and The Witness. The latter, developed by Jonathan Blow, was one of the most acclaimed of 2016. If you are a fan of puzzles, The Witness is a video game that you cannot miss. We also find proposals dedicated to PlayStation VR such as Astro Bot Rescue Mission, the jewel of the Asobi Team. The full list is below:
- Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition (From 19 April)
- Enter the Gungeon
- Rez Infinite
- The Witness
- Astro Bot Rescue Mission (PS VR)
- Moss (PS VR)
- Thumper (PS VR)
- Paper Beast (PS VR)
Without a doubt, the list includes games that will give you hours and hours of fun. Remember, they can all be enjoyed on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 thanks to backwards compatibility.
