Need for Speed will feature both single and multiplayer experiences

Need for Speed will feature both single player and multiplayer experiences, regardless of the title having an always online requirement. The developers assure that being connected will allow a more enjoyable experience with friends joining in the narrative experience, something that if done right could prove to be quite innovating and truly unique. Need for Speed will offer multiple camera angles, but a cockpit view unfortunately won’t be included.

Need for Speed will have dedicated servers and improvements to the AllDrive system, something that proves that the always online requirement is indeed true and not a miscommunication. The developers, Ghost Games clarify that the latest iteration is not Underground 3, but it does share many of the features and aspects that made the Underground titles great.

Need for Speed  will take place in a “nocturnal open world of urban car culture”

A number of features were mentioned: five “ways to play” named Speed, Style, Build, Crew and Outlaw. Need for Speed’s story will enable you to “carve your own unique path, via multiple overlapping stories, gaining reputation on your journey to become the ultimate icon”. Need for Speed will take place in a “nocturnal open world of urban car culture”, in the fictional West Coast setting of Ventura Bay. Areas will include a downtown section, a harbour and canyons.

Built around real world icons are five action-packed overlapping stories. Every choice, every second and every minute propels your progression through the five ways to play; Speed, Build, Crew, Style and Outlaw.

The game will be released on November 3rd for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
