The Call of Duty community had been waiting for this moment for months and Activision fulfilled its promise. The American company, along with the studios Trayarch and Raven software, have released the first frantic trailer of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which was captured on a PlayStation 5. The game is a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops, so you will have the opportunity to resume the adventures of iconic characters of the franchise.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, as its name indicates it, will be set during the Cold War, the historical conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union that maintained in vileness to the world. Raven Software, the studio responsible for the campaign, promises that players will “come face to face” with historical figures of the time. In addition, throughout the campaign we will visit places like East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey and even KGB headquarters, among others.
In your adventure you will take command of an elite unit that aims to put an end to Perseus, a character whose goal is to destabilize the world and change the course of history in his favor. However, the villain will not have it easy, because on our side will return characters like Alex Mason, Frank Woods and Jason Hudson, who will use U.S. resources to break through enemy territory to stop the plans of Perseus.
The campaign awaits us with several quite interesting novelties. First of all, the players will have more freedom in the missions thanks to the dimensions of the scenarios. You will be able to personalize your character and this will slightly affect the gameplay. In addition, you will be able to make decisions in the dialogues that will have an impact on the story. Yes, Black Ops Cold War will have different endings according to the decisions you made in the adventure.
Of course, this game will have the usual multiplayer mode; it will be developed by Treyarch. Did you miss the zombies? Faithful to the traditions of the above mentioned studio and the Black Ops saga, they will offer a mode with zombies. “Discover dark experiments of the Cold War that unleash a new zombie threat that you must face in a terrifying and intense cooperative game with friends”. The experience multiplayer will be revealed next September 9.
The developer studio said that the multiplayer will again offer cross play and cross progress between all platforms. It will again adopt the Modern Warfare seasonal model, so the multiplayer will receive free content – maps, operators, game modes, skins, key fobs and more – every few months. They also confirmed that Black Ops Cold War will soon be connected to Call of Duty: Warzone.
