Considering the great level design and gameplay work that the games Dishonored and Prey (2017) had, it’s not surprising that Deathloop, the newest from Arkane Studios, has attracted the attention of many fans. If you are among them, you will be happy to know that Bethesda has announced the release date of this video game: if there is no delay, we can start playing it from May 21, 2021, as it had been leaked this week.
As we already knew, it will be exclusive to PlayStation 5 during its first year of life, at least on the console: the PC version will be available from May 21st, either from Bethesda’s shuttle or through Steam. If you’re thinking of getting this latest version, the publisher’s official blog warns that reservations will open in a few days (no further details).
As it had also been intuited before, the game will have a standard edition, a Deluxe edition as well as reserve incentives regardless of the version you choose. Of course, the second one includes both the base game and several incentives: three weapons (one of which is exclusive to PS5), two character appearances, a selection of the soundtrack and two equipable enhancers of unknown effects. If you reserve the game, in addition to this you can also add to your arsenal a machete (also exclusive to PS5), an additional character appearance and another power-up.
Deathloop is a first-person action game set on the fictional island of Blackreef, where two extraordinary killers face each other in a temporary loop. The key to fulfill their mission and get out of this vicious circle is to observe the patterns of the enemies and their lives, and act accordingly using the different tools at our disposal.
