The digital gaming market has received a big boost with the confinement, as expected. And in a month of March in which digital titles have enjoyed great numbers, there is one game that has come out of it all very well. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the latest installment in the Activision saga, reached a new milestone in the number of active users during the month thanks to its free Warzone battle royale and quarantine.
In Superdata’s latest report on the digital gaming market in March 2020, the firm points to significant growth for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The figures are as follows: 62.7 million active users during the month, with a huge increase of 159% in the number of players compared to February this year.
This is the new high for the game since its release in November 2019, and as the report points out, the main responsible for this is Call of Duty: Warzone. Not for nothing, it is a free battle royale available to any player without the main game, and in its first weeks it had already exceeded 30 million players, among new users and Modern Warfare owners already counted in the total.
