WhatsApp’s vice president, in 2018, confirmed that the application will have advertisements, but did not set a date for this to happen.

This Tuesday, during the Facebook Marketing Summit 2019 in Rotterdam, the deadlines to monetize the application and take advantage of its more than 1.5 billion active users were revealed.

It seems that advertising will appear in WhatsApp Statuses to take advantage of its more than 1,500 million users, as is done today in Instagram and Facebook. Like Instagram’s Stories feature, WhatsApp Statuses take up the entire screen when you click on them, and according to WhatsApp, allows you to “share text, photos, videos and animated GIFs that disappear after 24 hours”.
