This message will self-destruct in… an hour, a day, a week, a month or a year. This is the new feature that WhatsApp will offer to users, who will be able to program the self-destruction of everything they say within the app groups.
The WaBetaInfo website has confirmed this functionality with images: it is called ‘Delete Messages’ and is in beta 2.19.348 for Android; check the picture above.
The way to use them is simple: we select a message and decide when we want it to self-destruct (in an hour, a day, a week, a month or a year). It’s that easy. And you can forget to delete the writing, because WhatsApp will do it.
This programmed self-destruction of messages, although it has been much claimed and expected by users, has some limitations, at least based on the beta that has been filtered, and is that it can only be used within groups, not in individual chats, and as long as the group administrator has activated this option previously.
There is still no release date for this feature, but anyone who wants – with Android operating system – can sign up for the beta app test through the Google Play Store. There are no requirements to participate, although you should keep in mind that this version of WhatsApp is not a stable version, so it may have errors.
It has not been confirmed whether they will be released in the next version of WhatsApp, but the fact that the application has adapted them to the dark mode -which it also keeps under development- could indicate that future messages that self-destruct would be quite close to seeing the light.
There is always ‘the corpse’ (the deletion fingerprint is clear with “This message was deleted”), but the option to delete this is one of the most popular and beloved in WhatsApp.
