Each time you attach an image in a chat it is compressed, it does not matter what messaging application you use. But there is a way for the images to be sent uncompressed: attach them as a file.
Send multimedia content was the next to write only with text: chat applications have evolved to be a tool for sharing content. It does not matter which one you use, surely, at least, you can send text, video, audio and images. Normally with a “paste”: this content is compressed so that you spend the least amount of data possible.
Imagine you have some fabulous wedding photos taken by several guests with DSLR cameras and you want to send them to a family member. Your wonderful photos of more than 6,500 pixels will be reduced by sending them to a ridiculous 1,280 pixels that, indeed, look pretty good on the mobile but when printed or displayed on a 4K TV they lose all definition and appear slightly blurred.
Do you want to send your photos as they are in the gallery, without the application compressing it in the process? Fortunately it is something possible with most popular applications: WhatsApp, Telegram … And Facebook Messenger, although with a trick: you can only do it from the side window of the web.
Let’s start with the most important ones: this is the best way to send images when you want the other person to receive them at their best.
How to send photos by WhatsApp without losing quality
We already anticipated the way before, and the trick is to attach the photos as a file instead of sending them from the direct access of the images. This is the process to follow:
- Click on the icon of the clip.
- Click on “Document”.
- Go to “Search for other documents” and use your mobile browser to go to the image gallery.
- Choose the photos you want and send them: the other person will receive them without losing quality.
How to send photos by Telegram without the application compressing them
The method is the same as in WhatsApp: you just have to attach the images in the form of a file. The use of compression for the normal sending of images has all its logic: although much quality is lost, the weight is reduced so much that many data are saved. But that’s not what we want, but send the photos without losing quality. And so it is done.
- Enter the chat you want and click on the clip.
- Choose “File.”
- Search the image gallery with the browser and attach the ones you want.
How to send photos by Facebook Messenger without losing quality
Here we run into a problem because the Messenger mobile application allows you to attach images, but not send files; so all the photos will lose quality when compressed. But there is a way to solve this problem: use the side chat on the web.
You can use a web browser and send the uncompressed photos using the clip that appears at the bottom of each chat. Click on the file and choose the photo, the process is exactly the same as in WhatsApp and Telegram. Do you not have a computer? You can use your mobile browser by activating the desktop version. That way your Facebook will load the side conversation window and you can complete the process.
