ASUS ZenPad 8 (Z380)

This is the cheaper option of the two , the tablet , which comes with a Intel Atom x3-C3230RK is actually one of the first devices to ship with a Rockchip made Intel processor (rather  than a Intel built one) , the 28 nm chipset is clocked to 1.2 Ghz and it has 4X silvermont cores inside along with a LTE Phone/Data modem and a ARM Mali 450 MP4 (quadcore) graphics core

The rest of the specs include 8/16GB of storage with the 8GB model getting a meh -1GB of RAM , the 16GB version is set to get 2GB of RAM ,both versions feature MicroSD card slots , the Tablet has a display of 8″ and it has a 1280×800 resolution IPS display protected by Gorilla glass . Thetablet measures in at 209 x 123 x 8.5mm which is a decent size for a 8″ tablet . The rest of the specs include a 5MP rear camera , 2MP front camera ,LTE ,WIFI 802.11b/g/n , Bluetooth 4.0 ,GPS and GLONASS and a MicroUSB 2.0 port for data transfer .

ASUS ZenPad S 8  (Z580CA)

This is the flagship ASUS Zenpad tablet unveiled today , the tablet , unlike the cheaper model features a completely different aspect ratio , and is entirely built from the ground up to be a killer tablet .First up , we have the Intel ATOM Z3580 chipset which is built on a 22nm architecture , this 2.33 Ghz chip features 4 silvermont cores and it comes with PowerVR Rogue G6430 GPU clocked to 533Mhz .

Ram on the tablet is also insane , at 4GB of LPDDR3 this puts it en par with the flagship Zenfone 2 making it a almost identical twin in some sorts , this tablet also has 16/32/64GB of storage with a MicroSD card slot

Measuring in at 203.2 x 134.5 x 6.68mm and 299g the tablet is kind of unique as it has a 4:3 aspect ratio unlike the weaker 16:10 Zenpad 8 . The Zenpad S features a 8″ 2048×1536 resolution IPS display with Gorilla glass protection which puts it in the same ball park as the Nexus 9 , iPad mini and the upcoming Galaxy Tab S2 8.?? .The tablet features Wifi 802.11b/g/n , Buetooth 4.0 ,GPS and Glonass but LTE or data connectivity is not available as the model comes only as a WIFI only one

Cameras on the device include a 8MP rear module – once again with no flash and a secondary 5MP front facing model which has a wide angle lens . The tablet uses the new USB Type C connector which is now the new standard for all things Android . Pricing for this beast is still not available , but in keeping with its Zenfone trend , expect to dish out atleast $249 for this model and $200 for the cheaper option fingers crossed
